About Me

Hi! I am so happy you found me! 

I am Amber, a 43 year old wife and Mom of 4.  I grew up in Raytown, MO. But have now lived in Florence for 25 years. I started my birth and doula journey after I gave birth to my first child, a daughter born in 2001. In 2002 I attended my first DONA doula training in St. Louis. I fell in love with helping Moms during pregnancy and birth. Which only grew as I apprenticed for a short time with a wonderful midwife. I soon had 4 children all together and wanted to be a stay at home Mom. Which I did for 22 years and adored it. 

In 2022 my family endured the loss of my middle son Caleb in a car accident. 

It made me re-evaluate where my life was headed. Instead of crying on the couch, which I did plenty of in the first 6 months. I got my CNA and trained to work as a ED Tech at the Bothwell ER. enjoy that job greatly, my patients and the wonderful staff that I work with was just what I needed to help my heart heal. Service has brought me out of that place of grief more completely than I ever thought it could at almost 4 years since the accident. 

In 2025 I started feeling the calling towards pregnant and birthing women again. So I once again went back to DONA in March of 2025 to get what I call a "brush up training".
